We recycle and re-use our warehouse packaging wherever we can, with our cardboard boxes and pallets re-used and re-purposed across the business as long as they are in useable condition. We recycle all cardboard and paper materials within our warehouses ensuring our warehouse and distribution waste remains as low as possible.
We currently recycle 100% of our recyclable paper and plastic waste from our warehouses and we recycle 75% of our recyclable waste in our UK offices including paper, plastic and glass materials; in an effort to reduce our environmental footprint.
Our continued charitable donation program has seen an estimated 5000 garments donated per year instead of directed to landfills. Whilst our staff sample sales re-directed and estimated 16,000 garments from landfills and waste sites to a second life since 2011.
As part of improving the environmental impact of our garments we decided we would support and promote reGAIN which is a digital app which aims to provide a solution to improve and reduce the amount of consumer textiles going to waste and landfill sites. They offer users the opportunity to send un-wanted garments to them in return for discounts off of some of their favourite brands. We promote reGAIN on our website and have offered them an exclusive discount for their users to use on www.izabel.com once they have sent their items to reGAIN for recycling.
We introduced carbon negative GreenPE mailing bags which are fully recyclable and made from 85% bio based materials in the UK. Which have been used for all online orders from August 2019 with over 37,900 orders now delivered in our plant based mailing bags.
